Who Can Volunteer?
Anyone can volunteer! There are a number of things that need to be done on a daily basis, and even the smallest and youngest of volunteers can be given something to do. Volunteers that are 14 years of age or older can volunteer with lessons, grooming or tacking up horses; with the permission of a parent or guardian. Many of our volunteers are students, parents and siblings, and others who hold a full time job that want to make a difference or just simply want to come out to play.
The great thing about Volunteering is that you don’t need any prior experience. You will be given hands on instruction and will learn everything you will need to know! The only thing that you need to volunteer is a great and positive attitude, the desire to help, and the willingness to learn about horse care and client interaction.
By volunteering, you can learn about horse care (feeding, grooming, and tack etc…) disabilities, and making great new friends. The best part of volunteering is the satisfaction you get from watching the riders improve mentally, physically, and emotionally, and knowing that you made a difference in improving the life of someone special.

What Do Volunteers Do?

There are a number of things that a volunteer can do. Volunteers can help with lessons which include; leading the horses, helping with mounting and dismounting riders, help provide support to riders or sidewalking, help riders to do exercises, play games, go on trail rides, go through obstacle courses, and other various activities. Give emotional support and encourage riders for their efforts during their lesson. Volunteers also assist with tack and tack care, grooming, and ground maintenance around the barn, watering, and feeding. You can also volunteer for horse shows, fundraisers, photography or news press, and if you see a need, create your own service project.

When and Where Can You Volunteer?
Hoofbeats to Healing is open Monday through Saturday from 8:30am-7pm(later in summer months). And we need volunteers all day. Either to help feed, water, repair fences, clean-up barn and arena, grooming, and of course lessons.
Best way to volunteer is to call or stop by the barn to schedule a time to come and volunteer. Just so you know if you stop by the barn, we will most likely put you to work.
Boy Scouts and Girls Scouts are welcome to come out and do services projects or merit badges.
